London removals FAQ
Parking, lifts, storage, offices, pianos and moves abroad: the questions that come up before a London move, with direct answers.

Removals & storage across London
Which parts of London do you cover?
Every borough: north, south, east, west and central. Most of our jobs are inside London, from mansion-block flats in Westminster to family houses in Croydon or Barnet, and we take moves out of London to anywhere in Britain. Abroad we deliver to France, Italy, Spain and Portugal and nowhere else.
How do you handle a move from one side of London to the other?
A cross-London move is planned around the route as much as the load. We check whether the drive crosses the congestion charge zone or relies on the North or South Circular, time the run away from the school-run and rush-hour peaks, and confirm parking at both ends before the day. One crew does the whole move, so nothing is handed over halfway.
Do I need a parking suspension for the removal van?
Often, yes. Many London streets are controlled parking zones or red routes, and a removal van cannot simply stop outside. Councils issue parking suspensions or dispensations for removals, and each borough has its own process. Tell us both addresses and we will tell you whether one is needed and how it is arranged.
Can you move us out of London to somewhere else in the UK?
Yes. We move people from London to the coast, the countryside and other cities, door to door with the same crew. Packing is worth considering for a longer drive, and if the new place is not ready on the day we can store your things in the meantime and deliver when you are.
What storage do you offer?
Storage for household goods between moves, student storage between terms, and space for business stock, surplus furniture or archived files. The most popular option is move-and-store: we collect, store and re-deliver on one booking, so your belongings are handled by one crew rather than a self-storage trip on your own.
Can you move a piano, antiques or artwork?
Yes. Pianos, antiques, artwork and other heavy or delicate pieces are moved with the right equipment, whether that means straps and a piano board down a stairwell or a padded crate for a painting. Mention them when you ask for a quote so the crew size and vehicle are planned around them.
Do you move offices?
Yes. Office moves are planned around trading hours, often in the evening or at a weekend, with desks and IT labelled so they go back in the right place. We work with building management at both ends on lifts, loading bays and insurance certificates. The office removals page explains how a move is phased.
How is a removal quote worked out?
From the volume of goods, the distance, the access at both ends, the size of crew needed, and extras such as packing, dismantling or storage. For moves abroad the destination and whether you share a load also matter. The written quote sets each of those out, so you can see what you are paying for before you book.
Are my belongings covered during the move?
Goods-in-transit cover applies while your belongings are with us, and the level of cover is stated on your quote. If you have items worth more than that, such as art or antiques, list them when you ask for a quote so cover can be arranged at their real value.
